Even today If I see Sir Trevor in the stands or on tv I am still in awe of the great man, if I see Bonzo it's more a case of 'Oh look, it's Billy. Different league IMO.

Can't agree with any of that I'm afraid (although I expect it was a wind up).
Bill is the club record holder, captain of two FA Cup winning teams and also the captain in two other major finals. Speak to any player who played under him and they will tell you he inspired them, indeed many were in awe of him.
Bobby Moore World Cup, FA Cup & ECWC winning captain and the all time number one national footballing hero.......enough said.

Isn't one of the seated areas along the side of the pitch supposed to be "kop-esque"? I guess that would qualify as "a stand" in traditional terms.
I can't see them trying ti impose a whole new vocabulary to describe the spectator areas just for the O/S....
...even though civil servants have their finger in the pie.

Given that Bobby Moore is a national as well as local icon, maybe one of the as-yet un-named sponsored stands could be given his name, leaving the two ends as Bonds & Brooking.

Trevor Brooking IS West Ham, as far as I'm concerned, number one choice all day long. Would be happy if Bonds replaced Moore though, but we al know that can't and won't happen.

I think we all know that the owners have got to play things down at times. When you've got the Orient/Charlton cretins foaming at the mouth and trying to cause trouble, the Club and particularly the LLDC don't need publicity like "We're going to earn MILLIONS out of the this giveaway!".
